It is an established fact that the South Indian audience have fully gotten acclimated to the culture of theatrical re releases. We are seeing more and more classic blockbusters releasing in theatres again, and the trend is not going to slowdown any time in the near future.

While we have this on one side, we are hearing an interesting report regarding the box office. His collection of the recently released such films and here is a look into the story.

The list is obviously dominated by Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay, who has humongous following in the Tamil market and has the reputation of bringing the audience to theatres in big numbers.

Recently released film of Thalapathy, Gilli holds the record for the highest collections for any re released film till date. This is a mighty record, and it would stay intact until and unless a new film of Thalapathy itself breaks the same.

Devadoothan (Malayalam) – ₹5.30 Cr

Spadikam (Malayalam) – ₹4.90 Cr

Orange 4K – ₹4.71 Cr (2nd Re-Release collected ₹1.35 Cr)

Simhadri 4K – ₹4.60 Cr

Salaar Re-Release (2025) – ₹4.35 Cr

From Tollywood, we have the epic Baahubali, which is preparing for re-release this October, and this could be the only film that could challenge the record and hold the top place if the marketing is done right.
