By: Shanaz B Syed | 19 Dec 2025 11:37 PM ISTAce director Ram Gopal Varma, who is currently out of form when it comes to movies, never goes out of form when it comes to pouring appreciation on filmmakers through his social media pages. This time, he hailed “Dhurandhar” as an iconic film that will move the Indian cinema forward, leaps and bounds, and heaped praise on the film’s director-producer Aditya Dhar.
“Dhurandhar is not a film; it is a quantum leap in Indian Cinema. Aditya Dhar has completely and single-handedly changed the future of Indian cinema, be it north or south,” says RGV, beginning his review. In his longest review ever, he not only hailed the film but stated that Aditya Dhar is not chasing trends by creating a turning point for Indian cinema. Varma stated that the film’s technicalities, including predatory camera work, immersive sound design, and brutally honest action, make Dhurandhar stand out globally as a cinematic while being rooted.
“When the final credits roll, you don’t feel just entertained, you feel altered. And that’s the mark of a filmmaker who isn’t just making movies, but he is reshaping the very ground that all us film makers stand on (sic)”, says Varma, concluding his review.
Guess what, Aditya Dhar reacts with lots of humility and devotion, sounds almost like he broke into tears, as he replied to the above review.
“Sir, If this tweet were a film, I would have gone to watch it first day first show, stood in the last row, and come out changed. I came to Mumbai years ago carrying one suitcase, one dream, and an unreasonable belief that I would one day work under Ram Gopal Verma. That never happened. But somewhere along the way, without knowing it, I worked inside your cinema. Your films didn’t teach me how to make movies — they taught me how to think dangerously. (sic)”, he replied, adding that RGV’s review makes him feel surreal, emotional, and honestly a little unfair too.
“And the boy who came to Mumbai to work under RGV… finally feels seen”, wraps Adithya.
Replying to his, RGV gave one more stunner of a comment. “When one visionary inspires another to go even further, cinema moves forward. You didn’t work inside my cinema. You outgrew it. If the boy who came to Mumbai became a man in Uri, he’s now become a superman with Durandhar,” Varma replied again, further elating Aditya Dhar.
“This conversation between RGV and Aditya Dhar deserves to be printed, laminated & framed!” a user commented, going by this warm talk that shows the incredible degree of mutual respect they have. Undoubtedly, that's true.
