Rinku Singh to Marry SP MP Priya Saroj After Family Talks

Indian cricketer Rinku Singh is set to marry Priya Saroj who is a Lok Sabha MP from the Samajwadi Party. Priya's father Kerakat Tufani Saroj confirmed that both families have had meaningful discussions and agreed to the marriage. Priya’s father is a three-time MP and has confirmed there has been no engagement or pre-wedding ceremony yet.

Rinku and Priya have known each other for over a year. They met through one of Priya’s friends whose father is also a cricketer. They both liked each other but waited for the family approval to proceed with the relationship. The families have now agreed to the wedding anniversary the engagement and wedding dates will be decided after the Parliament session. The engagement ceremony will take place in Lucknow.

Rinku Singh is currently part of the Indian T20I squad for the upcoming series with England which starts on January 22, 2025, in Kolkata. He will also play for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2025 starting in March. Priya’s father has stated that the wedding will be scheduled so it doesn’t conflict with Rinku’s cricket matches.

The two families met at Rinku’s house in Aligarh where they exchanged gifts and formalized the marriage agreement. Priya Saroj is from Karkhiyaon village in Varanasi. She was elected as an MP from Machhlishahr constituency in Jaunpur district at the age of 25. Priya has been involved with the Samajwadi Party for several years and became known during her father’s 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly campaign.

Priya Saroj has a law degree from Amity University, Noida and completed her arts degree from Delhi University.
