Rishab Shetty’s ₹70 Cr Demand Shocks Telugu Producer

Emerging as one of the bankable stars from the South is none other than Rishab Shetty, who has hit it out of the park with Kantara first and later with the film’s prequel, Kantara: Chapter 2. That made him a sought-after star, and as usual, some Telugu producers are queuing up for this neighbouring state’s actor, only to get a shocker.

A leading Telugu producer is said to have approached Rishab Shetty for a movie recently and returned from Bengaluru with a pale face. Reportedly, the actor is said to have quoted ₹70 crores as a solid paycheck to do this movie. That’s something the likes of even Pawan Kalyan and Nani are not charging at the given moment, though their films are consistently touching big revenues.

In fact, technically speaking, Rishab doesn’t have a solid hit outside his direction; he acted so far under his own direction only, as he scored hits with Kantara and Kantara 2 both as director and actor. Only if he could act in other filmmakers’ direction, and then score hits, would his box office pull-power be cemented. Only then, Rishab might be able to pull off such hefty remuneration easily.

On the flip side, some say that Rishab Shetty isn’t interested in doing the film, and hence, he scared the Telugu producer by quoting a big number.
