Director Responds To Criticism On Crying Video

When the release of Suriya’s Veera Bhadrudu aka Karuppu got delayed by a day, director RJ Balaji is full of tears and made a video on that day. He shared on social media that he has done whatever he could for the film, and it’s only in God’s hands if the film hits cinemas or not. The video went viral, and after the film's release, many felt that his honest cry had paid off, and the movie turned out to be a blockbuster.

However, a noted financier criticised these acts of RJ Balaji, saying that rather than crying over the movie's release issues, it would have been better if the director had stuck to the initially agreed budget and made the film with a controlled investment rather than spending luxuriously. The director was shocked. Reacting to this, Balaji said, “We are all happy with the result. My producers and I, along with our families, have visited a temple together. If they are not happy with me, surely they wouldn’t do that”.

He further added that starting with Tiruppur Subramaniam, everyone is a big person in the industry and he respects them a lot. In the end, the movie did well, and they have all gained from that, and he believes that he has honestly marketed the film despite issues, and today everyone is enjoying the gains. He refused to comment further on the issues, but stated that right now everyone is in celebration mode.

Well, as the film, Suriya’s Karuppu, turned out to be that unexpected ₹300 crore blockbuster, surely everyone is in a happy space. Otherwise, RJ Balaji would have faced lots of criticism and scrutiny, as happened with many directors earlier. Recently, we have seen how Harish Shankar’s massive promotions got criticised after Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh failed to click at the box office.
