'RRR' & 'Sita Ramam' Bags Major Chunk Of Filmfare Awards!

The Filmfare Awards for 2022 have been announced and it is Rajamouli's blockbuster 'RRR' and classic love story 'Sita Ramam' that bagged a major chunk of the awards. The Telugu film industry got many hits in 2022 but these two films were quite special as one film became a huge success internationally while the other won the hearts of many.

Coming to 'RRR', the Filmfare for the Best Director went to Rajamouli and it won in other major categories like Best Film, Best Actor In a Leading Role, Best Music Album, Best Playback Singer (Male), Best Choreographer and Best Production Design. Both NTR and Charan won the Best Actor award while the other winners include Keeravani, Kaala Bhairava, Prem Rakshith and Sabu Cyril in their respective categories.

Best Film Critics' Choice went to 'Sita Ramam' while the Best Actor Critics' Choice award was given to Dulquer Salman. Mrunal Thakur won the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female). Late Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry won the Best Lyricist for 'Kaanunna Kalyanam' song in 'Sita Ramam' while Chinmayi Sripada got the Best Playback Singer award.

Critics Choice for the Best Actor Female went to Sai Pallavi for her performance in 'Virata Parvam' while Nandita Das got the Best Supporting Actor Female for the same film. On the other hand, Rana Daggubati got the Best Supporting Actor Male for his role in 'Bheemla Nayak'.
