She then represented India at Miss Model of the World 2011 in China, making it to the top 36 quarter finalists. In 2012, she made it to the top 10 in Femina Miss India and later represented India at Miss United Nations in Miami.

However, her breakthrough came in 2014 when Femina Miss India chose her to represent India internationally. Ruhi also starred in the documentary 'The World Before Her'.

Her popularity soared, earning her a spot in The Times of India's Top 25 Most Desirable Women in India in 2014. Recently, she climbed to number 9 on Times Most Desirable Women 2020 list.
