Dreams are often painted in silence, but sometimes reality surprises us with colors we never imagined. For Rukmini Vasanth, the call to join Kantara Chapter 1 was one such unexpected stroke. Known for her Kannada films, the actress was quietly hoping for a break that could turn her career around. After back-to-back flops like Madharaasi and Ace, she now finds herself in the middle of one of the most anticipated films of the year.

Rukmini confessed in an interview that she never thought she would step into the world of Kantara. “Rishab Shetty watched Saptasagaralu Dati and Ace. He even came to the premieres and spoke about my acting. I didn’t even dream that he would consider me for Kantara Chapter 1. When the team called me, I was shocked and at the same time, very emotional,” she said. The film, set in a timeline nearly 400–500 years ago, required her to prepare in ways she never imagined, from learning horse riding to practicing sword fighting for action sequences.

Talking about the experience, she shared how intense the training was but also how much she enjoyed it. For her, this wasn’t just another film but a chance to explore a new side of herself as an actress. She also admired Rishab Shetty’s attention to detail, calling him a perfectionist who balances both acting and directing with remarkable ease. “There were days I just sat back and observed how deeply he engaged with the story and the characters. It was inspiring,” she added.

On the professional front, Rukmini remained tight-lipped about her rumored collaborations with big names like NTR, Prashanth Neel, and Yash in the upcoming film Toxic. She made it clear that she doesn’t want to miss out on any opportunities that come her way. For now, all eyes are on her performance in Kantara Chapter 1, releasing on October 2nd. If the film lives up to its hype, Rukmini Vasanth might finally get the turning point she has been waiting for, the dream role she never dreamt of.
