Former Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan captivated a generation of sports lovers when he played from 1992 to 2011. He is regarded as one of the greatest bowlers in the history of cricket. Although he is a foreign player, Indians hold him in high esteem. After all, he is the only bowler to take 800 Test wickets. His cricketing exploits will be dramatically presented in full glory in the October release '800', directed by MS Sripathy.
The news is that, on September 5, the film's trailer launch event will be held on a grand scale in Mumbai in the presence of another cricketing great: Sachin Tendulkar. The event is already buzzing with anticipation.
The film will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and English by Sridevi Movies' Sivalenka Krishna Prasad across India. Post-production works are going on at a brisk pace, said the senior Telugu film producer.
The makers have confirmed that, besides Sachin, other cricketers and film personalities are going to be conspicuous by their starry presence. It is going to be a high-profile event.
Madhur Mittal will be seen as the cricketer. Ghibran's music is said to bring the lead man's exploits to life.
