A controversy has erupted in the Telugu film industry after writer Sai Madhav Burra strongly criticized the makers of a recently released film, Saraswathi, claiming that his original story was drastically altered without his consent.

Burra expressed his disappointment on social media, stating that the project began with the story he had written but eventually turned into something completely different.

According to him, the filmmakers changed the narrative and its emotional core during the production process. He went on to say that the final version of the film was far removed from the concept he had initially created.

In his remarks, the writer used the word “r*pe” to describe how his story had been treated, saying the original idea had been severely distorted. His comments quickly triggered debate on social media and within the film industry, with many discussing the creative rights of writers and how stories sometimes change during filmmaking.

Responding to the criticism, actress Varalakshmi Sarathkumar strongly objected to the language used by the writer. When asked about the controversy, she said the use of the word “rape” in the context of a film project was inappropriate. She stated that such a word should not have come from a respected writer like Sai Madhav Burra and called the remark insensitive and rude.

Varalakshmi further added that people must be careful about the words they use in public discussions, especially when speaking about creative disagreements in the film industry. She stated that Sai Madhu had the story with him for six years, but he could never make it due to shortcomings

She further added that she has great respect for Sai Madhav, but added that she only took the storyline from him and the entire idea and made adequate alterations to the same. She sounded very professional and respectful about her reaction to the topic.
