Director Sailesh Kolanu has created a good name for himself with the HIT franchise. The first three films in the series received a positive response and helped him establish himself as a director who can handle crime and investigation stories. However, his journey has not been completely successful. His film Saindhav with Venkatesh became a major disappointment at the box office.

Before Saindhav, Sailesh had a strong image because of the success of the HIT films. The failure of Saindhav changed things to some extent. After the film failed to meet expectations, there were questions about whether Sailesh could deliver a hit outside the HIT universe. Now, his next big project has become important for his career.

Sailesh is currently working on Emo Emo Idi, a romantic comedy featuring Roshan Meka. After completing this film, he is expected to work on HIT 4. According to reports, Tamil actor Karthi has agreed to be part of the fourth film. His dates are expected to be available from the middle of 2027. The dialogue version of the script is reportedly expected to be ready by December this year.

Karthi will reportedly play a police officer named Veerappan in HIT 4. Sailesh Kolanu will once again direct the film, while Nani will back the project as producer. The movie is expected to go on floors next summer after the script and pre-production work are completed.

The HIT franchise has already featured Vishwak Sen, Adivi Sesh and Nani in the lead roles. Each film introduced a different police officer while connecting the stories to the larger HIT universe.

However, HIT 4 will be a different challenge for Sailesh. The franchise has a strong following, but the director now has to prove that his success is not limited only to the HIT series.

Karthi's presence will increase expectations among both Telugu and Tamil audiences. Sailesh therefore needs a strong story, gripping investigation and fresh treatment. Repeating the same formula may not be enough.

HIT 4 could become a crucial film in Sailesh Kolanu's career. The real question is whether he can score another big hit outside the HIT franchise and prove his versatility as a director.
