Trade Unhappy With Samantha’s IPL Excuse
It’s just a week for senior heroine Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s latest film as a solo lead, “Maa Inti Bangaaram”, to hit the marquee on May 15th.
By: Shanaz B Syed | 7 May 2026 1:38 PM ISTIt’s just a week for senior heroine Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s latest film as a solo lead, “Maa Inti Bangaaram”, to hit the marquee on May 15th. Surprisingly, though there’s no other release in the loop, while the May 1st releases have already lost their steam, and May 7th has a few small films like Lavanya’s Sati Leelavathi, Ravibabu’s Razor, and others, Samantha still decided to postpone her 15th release. That’s a shocker for sure.
Saying that the ongoing IPL is affecting the chances of the films at the Box Office, Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Maa Inti Bangaram got postponed to June 19th. However, the IPL excuse is something that’s not convincing movie lovers, and Samantha’s hardcore fans are also not buying that excuse. When they locked the release date, didn’t they know that IPL is already there? And while they are promoting the film, don’t they know that IPL has already started? Just two days ago, Samantha-Vennela Kishore's interview was released, and that explains the fact that the IPL excuse is just an excuse.
Some say that the film is unable to grab theatres, get attention, and create buzz. Even after releasing the Samantha interview with Vennela Kishore, the film didn’t get any attention. The once celebrated starlet on social media is unable to get attention for the film big time, with nothing going viral when it comes to the movie. Owing to that, they might have now postponed the movie’s theatrical release from May 15th to June 19th, which is what many believe.
Some say that after “Peddi” clears out all the theatrical issues, some top distributors of the Telugu states, then Samantha wants to take theatres from both of them and release the movie. Hope they will stick to June 19th at the least.
