Samantha Planned To Quit, But Fate Had Other Plans

Yes, the rumours that were heard three years ago were completely true. After Samantha tried to do a mega stunt like Nayanthara, hoping that she would do solo-female-centric movies, and they would click big time, somehow they didn’t work.

The likes of U-Turn, Yashodha, and Shaakuntalam have failed big at the box office. Other than Pushpa’s Oo Antava song, nothing worked out in her favour, and that hurt her more. That led to some frustration, and rumours popped up that she wanted to quit films rather than doing the hot chick heroine roles in Telugu films. Here’s the proof.

The other day at the success meet of his latest movie “Maa Inti Bangaram”, which he co-produced and wrote, The Family Man maker Raj Nidimoru commented that Samantha has done a film after a lot of pleading. “She wanted to quit films at one point of time, almost three years ago, and even said that she’s done with movies. However, I’ve convinced her to do one last Telugu film before calling it quits. Because I’ve seen her work in our project The Family Man 2 and Citadel: Honey Bunny, and always felt that she has lots of things to offer. Looks like I’ve convinced her, and things worked out,” said Raj Nidimoru.

Well, Maa Inti Bangaram turned out to be that interesting movie at the box office with no signs of stopping, even after almost touching ₹50 crores in collections. Though Samantha wanted to quit films, it looks like fate had other plans, and the senior star heroine might continue doing more films after delivering her first child. In Bollywood, many married mothers continue to do big films, so hope Samantha will also do that.
