Samantha Spills the Truth: Why She's Avoiding Tamil Films!

Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who impressed global audiences with her role in Citadel: Honey Bunny, has recently revealed her approach to selecting film projects.

While fans are eagerly waiting for Samantha's next big project, she also revealed why she has not signed any Tamil films recently. When asked about her absence from Tamil cinema, Samantha said, “It’s easy to accept many films, but now I’m at a point in my career where I need every film to have a lasting impact. If I don’t feel that passion and conviction, I can’t commit to it.” Her last Tamil film was Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, which was released in 2022. Since then, she has focused on projects that offer more personal and professional fulfilment.

Samantha's recent projects, such as The Family Man 2 and Citadel: Honey Bunny, have allowed her to explore unique, challenging roles, which she feels have raised her expectations for future work. "Raj and DK have spoiled me by creating roles that push me to give more every day. It’s extremely fulfilling to work on such challenging projects. If I don’t feel that, I’m not interested in working,” she confessed. This sense of fulfilment is what drives her to make carefully curated choices for her career.

Despite battling significant health issues in the past, Samantha made a strong comeback with Kushi in 2023, and the action-packed Citadel: Honey Bunny in 2024. Her role as Honey in Citadel garnered widespread attention, and the series marked her return after a long hiatus. Now, she’s gearing up for an ambitious project with Raj and DK, Rakt Brahmand – The Bloody Kingdom, where she will share the screen with stars like Aditya Roy Kapoor, Wamiqa Gabbi, Ali Fazal, and Nikitin Dheer. Samantha’s commitment to meaningful, challenging roles continues to fuel her passion for acting as she ventures into exciting new territory.
