Equal Pay Talk: Samantha’s Statement Gets Diverse Reactions!

It is already known that Samantha is one of the most vocal and active heroines in Tollywood. She has this habit of speaking, her heart out on most occasions, and expressing her belief system in the most honest and genuine way possible.

The star actress has done something of this sort now as she has batted equal pay amongst actors and actresses in the film industry. While Samantha is principal awaiting the release of her upcoming production venture Shubham, she has now revealed her plan for equal pay in the industry.

Samantha revealed that she will orchestra equal pay for actors and actresses who are working on her films and production ventures in the future. She even revealed the plan to enforce a seminar mechanism even while working with stars in the industry.

However, this statement is a mixed reaction on social media as people are pointing out that the likes of Mahesh Babu and Prabhas are such huge stars that they command hundreds of crores in remuneration. So, when Samantha actually decides to make a film with such a big star in the future, she simply cannot afford to pay as much remuneration for heroine as well.

The primary point that must be noted here is that the film industry is largely driven by male heroes as they are the ones who bring the audience to theatres in big numbers. So enforcing equal pay in a film industry like the South Indian cinema is a very tough task and requires a lot more enhancement of female stardom.

This is a practically and economically non-viable option for the time being and it has to be seen if the situation will change in any better in the future either.
