While she’s currently making headlines for visiting Tirupati with director Raj Nidimoru, it was her unfiltered honesty during a college event that caught everyone off guard. Speaking at the SV Group of Institutions in Nellore as part of promotions for her upcoming production Shubham, Samantha reflected on her career beginnings with surprising humility.
She admitted that she didn’t know much about acting when she did her first two films Ye Maaya Chesave opposite Naga Chaitanya and Brindavanam with Jr. NTR. “I feel ashamed watching those performances,” she said, laughing off the memory but also showing how far she has come. “I should have acted better.” Her fans, used to praising her journey, found this honesty refreshing. Samantha pointed out how impressed she was with the cast of Shubham, who are all newcomers. “When you see their performances, you won’t feel like they’re new,” she added.
The film, releasing on May 9, marks the first project under Samantha’s newly launched banner, Tralala Moving Pictures. Directed by debutant Praveen Kandregula, the movie features fresh faces like Harshit Reddy, Gavireddy Srinivas, Charan Peri, and Shriya. Even the technicians are new, but Samantha is confident that this team will make a mark. “I truly believe they’ll go far,” she said. Her support for young talent and willingness to invest in something so raw and new is turning heads.
Samantha’s journey has always been about pushing past personal and professional hurdles, and now, stepping into the producer’s role, she’s doing just that again. Her comment about her own early stumbles wasn’t just self-deprecating it was a nod to growth and evolution. As Shubham gears up for release, it’s clear Samantha is not just backing a film, but a belief that talent deserves a stage, no matter where it starts.
