Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the director known for his high-octane dramas like "Arjun Reddy" and "Kabir Singh," seems to have embraced big-budget filmmaking. While "Arjun Reddy" was made on a shoestring budget of ₹5 crore, his upcoming project, the pan-Indian action extravaganza "Spirit" starring Prabhas, boasts a significantly larger price tag. In a recent interview, Vanga went beyond just confirming the high budget; he confidently predicted that "Spirit" would not only recover its costs but also smash opening day records by raking in a staggering ₹150 crore.

Speaking on the financial aspects of the film, Vanga acknowledged the pressure but expressed faith in the project's commercial viability. He pointed to Prabhas' immense star power, his own proven track record, and the additional revenue streams from satellite and digital rights as guarantees for a healthy return on investment. Vanga further emphasized the importance of a well-executed pre-release campaign to build audience anticipation. He believes that with captivating content and a successful marketing strategy, "Spirit" has the potential to break opening day collection records, targeting a whopping ₹150 crore.

Vanga also revealed an interesting detail about his collaboration with Prabhas. He previously declined an offer to direct a Hollywood remake co-starring Prabhas. Instead, he chose to focus on developing the story for "Spirit," a project he felt held greater potential. Filming for the action-thriller is expected to commence later this year, around November-December 2024. With Vanga's penchant for commercially successful films and Prabhas' massive fanbase, "Spirit" is already generating considerable hype. The industry and fans alike will be eagerly awaiting the film's release to see if it lives up to Vanga's bold predictions.
