Sankranthi Releases Record Huge Show Count Today

Sankranthi is one of the biggest festive seasons for Telugu cinema, and this year is no exception. On 17th January, theatres across the Telugu states are seeing heavy footfalls as multiple big and medium films compete for audience attention. The festive mood, holidays and family outings have clearly boosted movie watching and the latest show count numbers prove it.

According to data tracked from ticket booking platforms, Chiranjeevi’s film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is leading the race with a massive 2,217 shows scheduled for today. Fans and family audiences are turning up in large numbers to watch the film.

Next in line is Anaganaga Oka Raju starring Naveen Polishetty with 1,147 shows.

The Raja Saab featuring Prabhas, follows closely with 926 shows. Even with a slightly lower show count, Prabhas’ star power continues to attract strong interest especially in mass centres and multiplexes.

Mid-range releases are also holding their ground. Nari Nari Naduma Murari starring Sharwanand has 622 shows while Bhartha Mahasayulaku Vignyapthi featuring Ravi Teja is running in 541 shows today.

Overall, Sankranthi 2026 has once again proved that festive releases remain crucial for Telugu cinema.
