Like a sky filled with noisy kites and cheerful chaos, Sankranthi 2026 is shaping up to be a full-on carnival for Telugu movie lovers. Five big films, five different moods, all ready to clash and make theatres roar. Every year, Sankranthi turns into a box office battlefield, but this time, the competition feels even spicier. Theatres across Andhra and Telangana are already gearing up for mad crowds, midnight screenings, and that festive buzz only Tollywood can create.

One of the most talked-about releases this season is Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu. Megastar Chiranjeevi leads the show in this blend of comedy, drama, and small-town emotion. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the film seems like a nostalgic throwback to those feel-good Telugu family dramas everyone loves during holidays. Nayanthara plays the female lead, and the music by Bheems Ceciroleo keeps it easy-going and festive, the kind that plays well in village loudspeakers and city theatres alike.

Then there’s Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi, starring Ravi Teja. Directed by Kishore Tirumala, it’s expected to bring in Ravi Teja’s trademark mass energy, sharp dialogues, colourful characters, and that effortless charm he’s known for. The team seems confident this one’s got just the right ingredients for a crowd-pulling Sankranthi entertainer.

And of course, the heavyweight in the lineup, The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas, hitting screens on January 9, 2026. A horror fantasy directed by Maruthi, this one’s got big visuals and a bigger buzz around it.

Then on January 14, Anaganaga Oka Raju with Naveen Polishetty and Nari Nari Naduma Murari featuring Sharwanand, Sakshi Vaidya, and Samyuktha, promise light-hearted fun and family drama.

And that’s not all, Tamil superstar Vijay’s Jana Nayakudu and Parasakthi (Telugu dubbed) add even more heat to the Sankranthi race. So yes, 2026 Sankranthi won’t just be about flying kites, it’s about flying box office numbers sky high.
