Introduction:
After hits like F2 and F3, Venkatesh and Anil Ravipudi teamed up for Sankranthi ki Vastunnam. Does it meet the audience's expectations? Let’s find out.
Story:
VYD Raju (Venkatesh) who is a former police officer leaves his job after a fallout with the department and settles in a village with his wife Bhagya (Aishwarya Rajesh) and four children. When a critical mission arises, Raju is forced to team up with his former lover and police officer Meenakshi (Meenakshi Chaudhary). However, Bhagya out of suspicion then decides to join the mission too. The story revolves around how Raju manages the mission while navigating the tensions between his wife and ex-girlfriend.
Performances:
Venkatesh delivers a delightful performance, perfectly balancing comedy and emotion. His role as a family man suits him and his comedic timing stands out. Aishwarya Rajesh impresses as a traditional village wife with humorous performance. Meenakshi Chaudhary looks stunning and does justice to her role, although it is less impactful. The child artist playing Venkatesh’s son steals the show with his humor. Supporting actors like Naresh, Muraleedhar Goud and VTV Ganesh contribute well. Upendra Limaye’s comedic attempts fall flat.
Technical Aspects:
Music by Bheems Ceciroleo is backbone for the film with the song Godari Gattu Meeda being particularly catchy. His background score adds energy to the narrative. Cinematography by Sameer Reddy is vibrant and captures the rural backdrop effectively.
Direction by Anil Ravipudi has more comedy than logic. First half provides ample entertainment. But the second half feels stretched with unnecessary subplots.
Analysis:
The film focuses more on humor than logics and coherent storyline. While the first half entertains with family story and situational comedy, the second half dips with illogical and outdated sequences. The emotional subplot near the end feels forced and unnecessary. Despite its flaws, the movie works as a festive entertainer due to its humor and family-friendly approach.
Verdict:
Sankranthi ki Vastunnam is a lighthearted film best enjoyed without overanalyzing. It’s an easy watch for those looking to spend quality time with family during Sankranthi.
Rating: 2.75/5
