Sankranthi 2026 was always projected as a packed season, with five notable Telugu releases locking horns at the Box Office, as we wrote earlier. Two of those films have already arrived in theatres, setting the tone for the season, while three more are waiting to showcase their strength. Let’s have a look.

Superstar Prabhas’ The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, was the first major release. The film was released on January 9th and received mixed reviews, despite the quality visual effects and amazing glamour treat from the three heroines. Close on its heels, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, directed by Anil Ravipudi, released today (Jan 12th). The film got hit talk from the previous night's premieres, giving hope that it will reap huge at the box office.

With the first two releases not fully satisfying all the audiences, the box office attention will be shifted to others, among whom Ravijteja’s Bhartha Mahaseyulaku Wignyapthi is releasing on January 13th. The Kishore Tirumala directorial raked up attention due to the concept of wife and extra-marital affair of the hero, inside the trailer, and the glamour treatment of the leading ladies as well.

Then comes January 14th, the major festival day, when two releases are hitting Telugu cinemas. They are Sharwanand’s Nari Nari Naduma Murari, directed by Ram Abbaraju, and Naveen Polishetty’s Anaganaga Oka Raju, directed by Maari. Both are positioned as youthful comedies that have strong word-of-mouth potential.

No doubt, Sankranthi 2026 is still wide open, while Raja Saab clocked massive collections already, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is about to ring the registers big time.
