Sankranti 2026: Big Box Office Battle Loading!

For Telugu people, Sankranti is not just a festival - it’s an emotion. And for movie lovers and filmmakers, it’s even bigger. Every year, Sankranti releases bring massive collections, no matter how the film actually performs. Even if a movie gets average reviews, there are high chances it still becomes a blockbuster thanks to the festive crowds and holiday mood. Now, for Sankranti 2026, Telugu cinema is gearing up for a full-on box office war, with back-to-back big films eyeing release.

First in the race is the much-awaited NTR-Neel project, produced by Mythri Movie Makers. This action drama, tentatively titled NTR 31 or Dragon, brings together Jr. NTR and Prashanth Neel, the mastermind behind the KGF franchise. Set against the backdrop of Telugu immigrants in Bangladesh, the film is already carrying sky-high buzz and is officially locked for January 9, 2026.

Next, we have Megastar Chiranjeevi joining hands with blockbuster director Anil Ravipudi for a film produced by Shine Screens. This mass combo is already confirmed, and fans are expecting a mass entertainer filled with fun and action. Along with these two, Anaganaga Oka Raju, produced by Sithara Entertainments, is also looking at a Sankranti release. Starring Naveen Polishetty and Meenakshi Chaudhary, this comedy entertainer revolves around wedding chaos - a perfect fit for the festival vibe.

Adding to the festive race, there are also strong chances for Ravi Teja’s film with Kishore Tirumala under SLV Cinemas, and Venkatesh’s project with Surender Reddy, produced by Lakshmi Narasimha Productions, to join the lineup. With all these big stars and top directors aiming for the same festive window, Sankranti 2026 is set to be a cinema carnival.
