Karthi’s Sardar 2 is slated for its theatrical release this week on September 10 with high expectations, since it is the sequel to the blockbuster Sardar, and the promotional content received terrific response. The film’s pre-release event was organized in Hyderabad. Adivi Sesh, Boyapati Sreenu, Sailesh Kolanu and Kalyan Shankar also attended the event.

Adivi Sesh said he has always been a big admirer of Karthi and his films. “I have three or four of my all-time favorite films of Karthi. Sardar is one of the most fun spy masala entertainment films, with a strong message. I hope Sardar 2 will impress audiences more. I know this movie is going to rock.”

Karthi described Sardar 2 as one of the most important films of his career. He said playing a spy character like Sardar is a matter of good fortune and compared the film’s importance in his career to Kamal Haasan’s Indian. “So, like how Indian was for Kamal Haasan, Sardar is to me. Making Sardar 2 on a bigger scale was an ambition for the team. The film’s female characters are two fierce women who represent girl power. The characters are focused on action rather than dance, making them a special part of the sequel.”

He further praised SJ Suryah, saying the actor has perfectly suited the villain’s role and has delivered something special. Karthi also congratulated composer Sam CS, as Sardar 2 marks his 100th film.

Karthi thanked the producers and Annapurna Studios for bringing the film to Telugu audiences. He expressed confidence in the movie, especially with Nagarjuna and the Annapurna team backing its Telugu release. “When Annapurna is there, Annayya Nagarjuna is there to support our film.”

He also spoke highly of director Boyapati Sreenu, revealing that he is a huge fan of Bhadra. He praised Boyapati’s discipline and said discipline is extremely important in cinema.
