Satya Dev is set to mesmerize audiences in the upcoming period drama Rao Bahadur, marking a highly anticipated reunion with director Venkatesh Maha after Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya. Co-starring Deepa Thomas, this intriguing film is presented by Mahesh Babu under GMB Entertainments and produced by Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy, Anurag, and Sharath.

Generating immense buzz, the makers recently launched the soothing melody O Sundari, composed by Smaran Sai and beautifully crooned by Vijay Yesudas. Speaking at the song launch, producer Anurag Reddy praised Venkatesh Maha and Satya Dev, saying the film carries strong social commentary, layered storytelling, and powerful performances. “The film transports the audience to the 1960–80 era and will leave them mesmerized with a rich theatrical experience.”

Satya Dev compared the ambition of Rao Bahadur to Vaaranasi, saying it aims for global reach, with next-level writing and casting. Calling it “not a 30-second reel but a lifelong song,” he said the music by Smaran and Vijay’s singing are outstanding. The film, featuring dance numbers and even Venkatesh Maha performing, is planned for a June release.

Venkatesh Maha reflected on his relentless five-year journey to realize this grand vision. He admitted to almost shelving the script before the producers and Namrata, who sat through a rigorous six-hour narration, stepped in to back the project.

Maha confidently promised that the final film will have ten times the emotional impact of his acclaimed C/O Kancherapalem. Satya Dev echoed this immense passion, revealing his absolute blind faith in Maha's storytelling. The actor opened up about his grueling dedication to the role, which demanded 85 days of intense shoots starting at 3:30 AM, enduring a five-hour makeup process every single day.

To detach from the heavy character, he would listen to the O Sundari track after every pack-up. Beaming with pride, he promised that Rao Bahadur is their very own Baahubali and Varanasi in terms of scale and ambition, assuring that it will go down as an unforgettable classic in Telugu cinema. He further stated that this might look like over confident promises but Rao Bahadur will live up to every word he spoke upon release.
