Senior Heroines Going At Jet Speed All Over Again!

There are a few actresses who shine brighter with age and experience. The lovely ladies who played a lot of glamorous roles during their younger days are getting to play meatier and more substantial roles these days that too in big projects. Stars like Trisha, Anushka, Kajal and Shruti Hassan are spending most of their time on sets. Lady superstar Nayanthara always has 2-3 projects in her kitty. Filmmakers struggle to get her call sheets. A young heroine's fate depends on hits and flops but these senior beauties are getting good movies no matter the result.

Trisha's 'Varsham' arrived 20 years back. Her movies like 'Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana', 'Varsham' and others are re-releasing these days to packed houses. Even today, she is pairing up with big heroes. Her last outing was with Thalapathy Vijay in 'Leo' which was a super hit. She is working with Chiranjeevi now in 'Vishwambhara'. She is a part of Kamal Hassan and Mani Ratnam's 'Thug Life'. There are other big projects lined up as well.

Anushka scored a hit last year with 'Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty'. She is currently working on a Malayalam project and it will mark her debut in the Kerala film industry. Now, she is working on an interesting project under Krrish's direction. The shooting has already begun.

Kajal Agarwal has picked up pace once again after having a baby. She scored a hit last year with Balakrishna's 'Bhagavanth Kesari'. She is also doing a lady-oriented cop drama named 'Satyabhama'. It will arrive in theatres soon and Kajal is the leading lady in Kamal Hassan and Shankar's magnum opus project 'Indian 2'. She is even doing a Hindi film named 'Uma' and sources say that she is listening to a few other scripts in Telugu in recent times.

Coming to Shruti Hassan, she scored three super hits in 2023 with 'Waltair Veerayya', 'Veera Simha Reddy' and 'Salaar'. While she will be a part of the much-awaited 'Salaar 2', she is also doing a crazy project titled 'Dacoit' with Adivi Sesh. Apart from them, Priyamani is also doing projects like 'Family Man 3' and was seen in SRK's 'Jawan'. Her OTT film 'Bhamakalapam 2' released recently in Aha.

With the audience maturing and the heroes understanding the changing mindsets, the experienced actresses are in full demand these days. Previously, the careers of heroines used to end after 5-6 years but it is getting prolonged a lot if you have a bit of acting talent and don't rely solely on glamour show.
