Asked Srihari To Not Takeup ‘Magadheera’ Movie!

Gone are the days when an actor would be seen as just a hero, but these days, even a character artist is also demanding a part with the hero and making a huge impact, even with a few scenes. Say it, Madhavan in Dhurandhar, SJ Surya in Saripodha Sanivaram, or Mohan Lal in Janatha Garage; these heroes did only small roles when compared to the leads of those movies. However, these actors amassed as much fame as the main leads of those films. However, the thinking used to be not like this almost a decade ago.

Former hero Jagapathi Babu earlier explained how he thought for almost a year before switching to character roles. Giving more light on such thinking, former dancer Shanti (popularly known as Disco Shanti), shared the other day that she never liked it when her deceased husband Srihari acted in that character role in the “Magadheera” movie. “I’ve never liked Srihari playing supporting roles, as I’ve seen him as a hero only. Even before Magadheera, he started doing supporting roles, but I felt he shouldn’t do. I’ve always imagined myself as a hero’s wife only, so I can’t take the fact that he’s doing character roles. Hero is hero, and supporting character is the supporting character,” said Shanti.

However, even before Magadheera, Srihari has done special roles in films like Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana and Dhee, and those films turned out to be big blockbusters; those films would have been unimaginable if Srihari hadn’t played those roles. The whole of Magdheera’s flashback war episode would be nothing, and Ram Charan’s Bhairava character wouldn’t have gotten that elevation, if not for Srihari as the opponent. That’s the story anyway!
