The Soothravakyam promotion event turned tense when Dasara actor Shine Tom Chacko addressed the controversy involving actress Vincy Soni Aloysius. Chacko, known to Telugu audiences as the villain in Dasara, finally responded to the allegations made against him. Vincy had earlier accused him of behaving inappropriately during a film shoot and had even filed a complaint with the Malayalam Film Chamber. At the event, Chacko chose to say sorry in front of the media, but things didn’t calm down the way he might have expected.

“I didn’t mean it that way. It was just a joke,” Chacko said while apologizing. Vincy, who was right next to him, also spoke. “I was shocked and embarrassed that day. I didn’t expect that from him,” she said. She also mentioned that while her reaction may have hurt his family, the incident was real. Chacko added, “Even I didn’t think I would do something like that. If it upset you, I’m sorry.” Vincy replied, saying she noticed a change in him but made it clear that she stood by what happened.

Earlier in April, Vincy had said she didn’t want to file a police case but wanted to address the issue within the film industry. She said she planned to stay in the industry and raise her voice instead of walking away. She also shared her disappointment that senior people in the industry ignored such incidents. She confirmed she would not withdraw her complaint, even if Chacko apologized publicly.

This controversy has once again brought attention to the rules in the Malayalam film industry. The industry has now started taking drug use on film sets more seriously. If anyone is caught with drugs during the shoot, they will be removed from the project. Also, actors are now being asked to give written permission regarding drug use before the shoot starts. With everything going on around this issue, it’s clear that the industry can’t turn a blind eye anymore and must take proper action.
