Nagarjuna Drops Big News On Shiva’s Epic Comeback

His cult-classic film Shiva is coming back to theatres, promising nostalgia and a fresh cinematic experience.
Nagarjuna announced that Shiva will re-release on November 14, coinciding with his father Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s 101st birth anniversary. The re-release is a tribute to ANR’s dream of keeping stories alive for future generations. Originally released in 1989 and produced by Annapurna Studios’ Akkineni Venkat and Surendra Yarlagadda, Shiva is considered a landmark film that changed Indian cinema, marking the eras of “Before Shiva” and “After Shiva.”
Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, the film returns in a new 4K version with remastered Dolby Atmos sound, upgraded from the original mono mix using AI technology. Nagarjuna said, “My father believed cinema could live beyond generations, and Shiva was one such film. Bringing it back in this form is a tribute to his vision.” The restored visuals and immersive sound promise a completely new experience for audiences.
