Shruti Haasan Files Case On Poster Seller

If you land on some e-commerce website like Flipkart, there are huge, larger-than-life posters of Shruti Haasan for sale. Earlier, some film magazines used to print such huge spreads and those images used to be the wall posters in the houses of movie enthusiasts. Now that some companies are selling posters on the net, Shruti Haasan took the legal route as she didn’t authorise them.

Filing a case against one Mahalaxmi Arts and Craft Works, which allegedly sells posters on Flipkart bearing Shruti Haasan’s name and image, the actress urged the Mumbai High Court to take action as she hasn’t authorised them. Shruti also made the likes of Google (YouTube), Meta (Facebook and Instagram), X Corp, and Pinterest as defendants, as she accused these platforms of hosting the AI-generated videos of her, which are fake, revealing and sexually explicit in nature.

Shruti alleged that all these pictures are created using generative AI and deepfake technology, and she wants the Mumbai High Court to take action on them. Shruti wants her name, image, and her presence to be patented to herself, like how the likes of Chiranjeevi, Jr NTR and other stars got the orders from the Court, preventing anyone from misusing their image.
