Shruti Haasan Slams Unfair Tags In Industry!
In the film industry, when a movie flops, actresses are sometimes unfairly blamed and called names like "Iron Leg."
By: Tupaki Desk | 26 July 2025 11:39 AM ISTShruti Haasan, who is set to appear in multiple big films this year like Coolie with Superstar Rajinikanth, Train, Jana Nayagan, and Salaar Part 2: Shouryanga Parvam, recently spoke about a difficult phase from her early career. In the film industry, when a movie flops, actresses are sometimes unfairly blamed and called names like "Iron Leg." These labels are rarely used for male actors, and Shruti was one of the actresses who faced this early on.
Even though her first few films didn’t do well, Shruti didn’t give up. Her big break came with Gabbar Singh, featuring Powerstar Pawan Kalyan, which became a massive hit and changed her image completely. That one success helped her move forward confidently and proved that one flop doesn’t define an actor’s talent.
In a recent interview, Shruti said she was thankful to Pawan Kalyan and director Harish Shankar for believing in her despite her earlier flops. She said she doesn’t like being called lucky or unlucky, she just wants to be known as an actress who enjoys her work and loves cinema. She also thanked her fans for their constant support.
Talking about her film 3, which wasn’t a box office hit, Shruti said the movie might have done much better today with the rise of OTT platforms and pan-India releases. The film’s song Kolaveri Di became a huge success, and she feels the film would’ve reached more people now. Shruti is currently playing a special role in Coolie, where she plays Sathyaraj’s daughter. She shared that director Lokesh Kanagaraj offered her the role during a music video shoot, making it an exciting new chapter in her career.
