Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy suggests that actors seeking permits for outdoor film shoots or higher ticket prices during releases should make videos to raise awareness about drug abuse and cybercrime. However, actor Siddharth believes that actors are already socially responsible and do not need such mandates.

During the promotion of Shankar’s "Indian 2" in Hyderabad, a reporter questioned whether actors are socially responsible. This was in reference to the Telangana CM's suggestion about creating awareness videos in exchange for support. Siddharth responded, indicating that he had taken socially responsible actions in the past without any political prompting. He mentioned his work from 2005 to 2011, where he promoted safe sex in Andhra Pradesh. He stated that actors act on their conscience and are inherently socially responsible. He assured that actors would comply with any genuine request from the government, but they don't need directives to act responsibly.

But this statement from Siddarth received backlash from Revanth Reddy supporters. Now responding to the issue, Siddarth reacted on it. He said whatever Revanth Reddy is doing is a good job and taking care of our future children is our responsibility. He added he has done responsible work in the past and will continue the same in future.

Correcting his words Siddharth said, “I completely support Chief Minister Revanth Reddy garu and his government’s initiatives in the fight against drugs. If my words have hurt anyone, I’m really sorry about that.”

"Indian 2," directed by Shankar, will be released in Telugu as "Bharateeyudu 2" and in Hindi as "Hindustani 2." It is the sequel to the 1996 hit "Indian," featuring Kamal Haasan reprising his role as Senapathy, a freedom fighter turned vigilante fighting corruption. The sequel also stars Siddharth and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles. Kajal Aggarwal has also filmed her part, which will appear in "Indian 3." After a long production period, "Indian 2" is set to release on July 12.
