When silence breaks, it speaks louder than noise. And singer Sunitha’s voice—usually known for melody—turned into sharp clarity as she responded to the viral allegations made by young singer Pravasthi Aaradhya. After days of heated online debate, Sunitha finally addressed the issue, and she didn’t hold back.

In a strongly worded response, Sunitha countered the claims made by Pravasthi, who alleged harassment, bias, and humiliation on the sets of Padutha Theeyaga Silver Jubilee. Sunitha stated she was deeply hurt and disappointed. “I kissed you as a child, Pravasthi. It wouldn’t be proper now, but back then it was affection. If you had seen all the episodes, you would know how emotionally involved we judges get when someone sings well,” she said. Sunitha also clarified that there are rules on reality shows about song selections and copyrights—something Pravasthi, being an experienced contestant, should already understand.

Sunitha further pointed out inconsistencies in Pravasthi’s narrative, highlighting the fact that she had previously collaborated with her on an album. “If I truly disliked you, why would I choose you for that project?” she asked. Addressing Pravasthi’s comments about being hurt when her mother was referred to informally, Sunitha questioned the double standards, asking if it was polite for her mother to speak harshly during eliminations. She added, “This is not about personal dislike—it’s about not being able to accept defeat. Respect and resilience matter in this industry.”

Sunitha closed her statement with a broader concern—not about one contestant, but about the larger culture of blame. “It’s worrying when people refuse to reflect and instead react. Losing gracefully is also part of growth. Not everything can be proved with evidence, but time shows the truth. I just hope young artists are guided with honesty, not ego,” she said. In a world flooded with instant opinions, this is one reply that’s bound to echo for a while.
