Blockbuster Hero, Flop Director: What’s Coming!

It is a common practice in the film industry for successful heroes to go after successful directors so that the track record is clean and there is a better chance of making a good film. But for a change, Tamil Hero Sivakarthikeyan is changing his track.

Notably Sivakarthikeyan has been one of the most consistent heroes in South Indian cinema with consecutive successes to his name.

However, the interesting point that must be noted here is that Sivakarthikeyan is undergoing a significant makeover for his upcoming film Madharasi, which is being directed by AR Murugadoss.

The problem with this project has been with the fact that Murugadoss who was once one of the most reputed directors in South Indian cinema has been in horrible run of form. Almost all of his films in the recent past, have been disasters at the box office.

So this collaboration between a blockbuster hero and a flop director is grabbing the attention all over. This project is showing decent promise with the promotional material that has been released till now, and there is a lot of emphasis on the successful track record of Sivakarthikeyan.

The natural expectation is that the success streak of the Hero would be able to deliver this struggling Director, some much needed commercial success, and that is exactly what is intended here. But it would take a lot of craft and cinema, making knowledge from Murugadoss to come out of his slump and deliver a hit for Sivakarthikeyan.
