Sobhita Dhulipala’s Chikatilo Promises Gritty Crime Thriller With Powerful Female Lead

Sobhita Dhulipala is back with a content-driven film titled Chikatilo which is touted to be a suspense crime thriller that is already creating strong buzz among film geeks. The trailer has grabbed attention for its dark tone and gripping narrative. Meanwhile it is being reported that Sobhita’s role in this thriller will be a show of strength and rooted story telling.

This film marks Sobhita’s first release after her marriage to Naga Chaitanya which has further raised expectations among audiences. Known for choosing unconventional roles, Sobhita sticks to her niche of being a performance-oriented actress.

In Chikatilo, Sobhita plays Sandhya, an investigative journalist, podcast host and TV anchor. The story revolves around a series of brutal murders happening in the city. When some of the victims turn out to be her close friends, Sandhya takes it upon herself to uncover the truth. Her true-crime podcast titled Chikatilo becomes the key tool through which she digs deep into the mind of a mysterious serial killer.

What makes this film stand out is its fresh concept. The blend of journalism, podcast culture and television media gives the thriller a contemporary feel. Chikatilo will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on January 23.
