SOS 2 Trailer: Bollywood Still In Hangover?

There was once a time when Bollywood used to consistently encourage films based on slapstick comedy. The audience moved away from this genre but it appears that everyone has in tune with the same.

Incidentally, the makers of Son of Sardar 2, starring Ajay Devgn, have released a second trailer ahead of the movie’s new release date August 1. Earlier, the film was set to release on July 25, but it was postponed because Saiyaara has been performing strongly and continues to dominate the box office. Even with the delay and new trailer, Son of Sardar 2 is still struggling to impress audiences.

Many viewers are not happy with the second trailer. People online have said the trailer looks worse than the first one. They criticized it for having silly jokes, outdated comedy, and even some offensive dialogues. Some even noticed that parts of the second trailer were copied from the first one, showing a lack of creativity.

One major concern is a scene where Mrunal Thakur’s character, a Pakistani woman, is linked to jokes about bombing Pakistan. This has upset a section of viewers. The trailer also tries to include a transgender character for representation, but the humour around it feels insensitive.

Fans fear that even after changing the release date, the film may not perform well. Meanwhile, Saiyaara is expected to earn more in one day than Son of Sardar 2 might earn in an entire week.
