She has had five releases in five months and she hasn't taken a single vacation after 'Dhamaka' released. Her hard work and dedication have to be appreciated. But the young heroine has nothing to show for it as most of the releases ended up being disasters at the box office and she is being labelled as a flop heroine.
Her looks earned Sreeleela a lot of fans and her dances are a treat to watch on the screen. But many say that she is limiting herself to just these two things. Ever since 'Dhamaka' came out and showcased her dancing capability, every director was hellbent on making her dance endlessly. Whether it is 'Skanda' or 'Extra Ordinary Man' or 'Adikeshava', all of them had insignificant heroine characters which gave no scope for Sreeleela to perform but had mass songs that made her dance wonderfully.
Many expected 'Guntur Karam' to be different but it is the same as well. All she did in the movie was dance vigorously for 'Kurchini Madthapetti' song and Trivikram even included a portion in the film where she is made to dance for 'Cheppave Chirugali' and 'Nakkilesu Golusu' without any context. The only film which tried to bring out the actress in her was 'Bhagvanth Kesari' and she gave a good performance in it. Though it is Balakrishna who took the lion's share of plaudits, her acting was well-noticed too.
It is high time Sreeleela focuses more on picking scripts that showcase the performer in her and not just the dancer. A few more wrong choices may take her out of the game completely. Let us see if she manages to come out of this glam doll who is only good for dancing image or not.
