Leaving her studies as a BDS student in Nizamabad, a young Telugu girl came up with lots of hopes to become an actress and a heroine. Then she found the role of a hero’s sister in the Julayi movie and later appeared as a heroine in a couple of movies. Nothing worked, and that pushed her into Television. With that loud noise, timing, humour and presence of mind, slowly Sreemukhi Rathod aka Anchor Sreemukhi became one of the reigning queens of Television after Suma.

While the likes of Anasuya and Rashmi strictly restricted themselves to one type of program, Sreemukhi explored many avenues on TV, and succeeded as a host. However, she never tried her luck with cinema again, as not many offers came her way, though she sizzled in lingerie as well on Instagram. But finally, she appeared in a homely role in Samantha’s Maa Inti Bangaram as a co-daughter-in-law, and clicked big time. Her timing, innocence and the whole acting prowess have struck a chord with the audience. Not just the Instagram glamour and loud shouting on TV, she could do subtle acting as well, is what it has proved.

Some say that after a decade in TV, finally Sreemukhi has cracked the code to cinema, but now it depends on how she will take it forward from there. Because previously she acted in a couple of big-ticket films alongside Chiranjeevi and other stars, but nothing clicked. Hope Sreemukhi makes the best use of the justice done to her acting career after a long time.
