Buzz: Will #GeorgeKrish Do Justice To Him?

Sreenu Vaitla’s massive comeback wagon “George Krish” is finally launched today with Sharwanand in the lead and Anil Sunkara as the producer. Guess what: his long-time friends like Gopi Mohan and Kona Venkat are also associated with the movie, though Kona is not officially linked to the project. However, this film would actually decide the director’s fate forever.

After the success of Dookudu in 2011, Sreenu Vaitla has become that sought-after superstar director in Tollywood. But then, he came up with Baadshah, an average film, and summed it up with Aagadu, which ended up as a massive disaster. Later, films like Bruce Lee, Mister and Amar Akbar Antony further pushed him into deep misery. The director never recovered from the blows given by the box office.

However, when chance came in the form of Gopichand’s Viswam, Vaitla made another messed-up work in the name of the story of a secret agent, and the film turned out to be a big dud at the box office. That movie almost sealed Sreenu Vaitla’s career in 2024, but now he has Sharwa’s George Krish rolling again.

If at all Vaitla tries creating some new-age comedy, the film might work. But producing the same outdated comedy on the silver screen, and coming up with the same old stories that will have elevated heroism but nothing else, will not change fortunes. Hope the director selected a story that would do justice to him through George Krish.
