Oops! Hey Bhagwan Becomes “Hey Balwanth”

In recent times, various issues have been raised by the Censor Board regarding the film titles and the content of the movies. We have seen how Jana Nayagan is struggling in Tamil Nadu for a release, due to Censor issues. Coming to Telugu films, we have seen the film “Couple Friendly” given an ‘A’ certificate, though there is no such content inside the movie. Here’s another shocker now.

Actor Suhaas is coming up with the film “Hey Bhagawan,” which is hitting cinemas on February 20th. After the film was promoted big time by hooking up with the secret business of the father character in the movie, finally, the Censor Board gave the ultimate stroke. They have asked for a change in the title. With nothing to do, the makers of the movie changed the title to “Hey Balwanth” now. Some say that the hero’s business inside the movie might irk believers of God, and hence they asked for a title change.

Even in the case of “Couple Friendly”, as that word got popularised by Oyo rooms, the Censor Board felt that the film couldn’t be given a U/A certificate. The makers asked them to alter the title to “Friendly Couple” so that they could give a U/A certificate, which the makers refused to do, and hence the happening. We have to see how the Telugu film industry will handle these Censor Board troubles in the coming days.
