Gandhi Tatha Chettu: Sukriti Impresses Her Father Sukumar with Acting Skills

The movie Gandhi Tatha Chettu will release in theatres on January 24. Sukumar Bandreddi’s daughter, Sukriti Veni Bandreddi, plays the lead role. Padmavati Malladi directed the film. It is produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Sukumar Writings and Gopi Talkies. Tabitha Sukumar is presenting the movie. Naveen Yerneni, Yalamanchili Ravishankar and Shesha Sindhu Rao produced the film.

The team recently interacted with the media in Hyderabad. Director Sukumar spoke at the Rachabanda event. He shared that Sukriti loves singing. "She started singing in Standard IX. She was playful at home, so I didn’t believe she could act. I initially refused to let her act in this movie. When the film came her way, I had doubts. Padmavati insisted, so I allowed her to try narration. After watching the first clip of her acting, I was pleasantly surprised," he said.

Sukumar explained his expectations from artists. "I expect great acting skills from the cast. For my films Rangasthalam and Pushpa, the casting process took 8-9 months. Sukriti surprised me with her talent. I am proud of her performance," he said. Sukumar praised the director and producer. "Padmavati akka wrote an engaging script. She will achieve great success. Producer Sindhu Rao worked hard to complete the film," he added.

Tabitha Sukumar also praised the team. She said, "I wasn’t confident about my daughter’s acting. The director trusted Sukriti’s talent. I thank Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar for bringing the movie to theatres. The film gained appreciation at festivals. I hope the audience supports Gandhi Tatha Chettu."

The film has won several international awards. Sukriti also received the Best Child Artist award. The cast includes Anand Chakrapani, Raghuram, and others. Music is composed by Re. Cinematography is handled by Srijith Cheruvupalli and Vishwa Devabattula.
