GG Is A Super Cute Film, With Family Vibe: Sumanth Prabhas

With Godari Gattupaina set for a May 8th theatrical arrival, Sumanth Prabhas is promoting the movie with renewed excitement. The actor, who made a striking mark with Mem Famous, says his second outing feels like rediscovering himself. “After Mem Famous, I heard several stories. But Godari Gattupaina instantly felt special,” he shares.

One of the highlights, he says, is Jagapathi Babu’s role. “Audiences have mostly seen him in intense roles lately, but here, he’s in a charming, heartwarming avatar- something reminiscent of his lighter classics. Our scenes have a very organic, enjoyable rhythm.”

For Sumanth, the Godavari dialect was both a challenge and a thrill. “Being a Telangana boy, getting the accent right took months of practice. I wanted people from the Godavari belt to feel that the character truly belongs to them. Godari Gattupaina is a super cute film, with family vibe.”

He plays an auto driver, a portrayal he approached with sincerity. “Auto drivers are often presented as massy. But many of them are incredibly humble and affectionate. My character is exactly that- simple, pure-hearted, and deeply rooted in his relationships. There’s also an auto race sequence, for which I trained rigorously. It’s one of the film’s exciting moments.”

While director Subhash Chandra steered the film’s creative vision on set, Sumanth took full charge when it came to the film’s promotions. “Subhash had a clear voice for the movie, so I didn’t interfere in the making. But I did request him to let me handle the promotional ideas. I wanted the audience to feel something different the moment they saw our content.”

With release day approaching fast, Sumanth says he’s already preparing to reveal his next project soon. “For now, all my energy is on Godari Gattupaina. It’s a film filled with innocence, warmth, and fun. I can’t wait for people to watch it.”
