1st Part Running in Theatres, Recovery Not Done, But Sequel Announced!

Generally, we see a sequel being announced for a superhit film. In case the first part goes on to become a huge blockbuster at the box office and create an identity for itself. This was earlier seen in the case of films like Baahubali and Pushpa and also KGF.

But there is this one Hindi film that released recently and is still running at the box office, but already had its sequel announced. The film in question here is none other than Bollywood star, Sunny Deol’s Jaat.

While the first part is still running in the theatre with mixed revenues and could not even touch hundred crore gross till now, the makers have announced the sequel for the same.

Mythri Movie Makers announced yesterday that they are making the sequel for Jaat and labelled it Jaat 2. An official communication to this effect was announced by the makers and also the lead actors and director Gopichand Malineni.

However, this strategy is being called out as a simple marketing mechanism that has been incorporated by the makers. The first part is still running in theatres and it hardly crossed ₹75 gross till now. At that point in time, there is no need to announce the sequel in a hurry.

So the speculations are suggesting that the makers perhaps aimed to create curiosity and bring the audience to the theatres for the first part by projecting a false system of franchise advantage.

This is the mechanism that has been incorporated for this film and it is leading to further theories on social media. But nevertheless, when it comes to the interests of the makers, they are always going to play their cards wisely, and there is absolutely nothing wrong in doing all they can to bring audience to theatres.
