Jyoti's journey in the entertainment industry began in regional theatre and films. She also showcased her talent as a radio jockey. Her notable works include Punjabi language films such as "Ik Kudi Punjab Di," "Raula Pai Gaya," and "Munde Patiala De," along with appearances in Punjabi television series like "Akiyaan To Door Jayen Na" and "Kach Diyan Wanga."

In 2012, Jyoti landed a significant role in the television show "Qubool Hai," produced by 4 Lions Films and aired on Zee TV. She portrayed the character Zoya Farooqui, which earned her recognition and accolades. Her portrayal won her the GR8! Performer of the Year—Female award at the Indian Television Academy Awards and the Best Début Actress award at the Zee Gold Awards 2013.
