Unexpected Shocker To Suriya At Box Office

With the move out of “The Paradise” from the August 21st date, Sithara Entertainments thought that they had secured the best date for Suriya’s “Viswanath & Sons”, which is locked for August 14th. However, after it is confirmed that this movie is actually a Tamil film, but only dubbed into Telugu, though directed and produced by Tamil folks, the competition in the Tamil box office is being checked.

Quite surprisingly, what was thought as a solo date for the Suriya starrer at the Tamil box office is now getting choked with major competition. Another talented hero Vishal’s maiden directorial venture Magudam and young hero Kevin and Nayantara’s Hi are releasing on August 14th only. Surprisingly, both these films are also seeing good bookings along with Viswanath & Sons, but Magudam is leading with strong interest on BookMyShow already, though the final strength will be unveiled only after bookings open.

At the same time, in Telugu also, if Varun Tej’s August 7th release Korean Kanakaraju clicks, and if Spiderman: Brand New Day continues its hawa at the box office, then surely Viswanath & Sons is going to see heavy competition until it gets blockbuster reports. Also, it has been a long time since a Suriya’s film has clicked, while Karuppu did amazingly well at the Tamil BO and was good at the Telugu box office. We have to see if Viswanath & Sons will continue the streak.
