Suriya’s upcoming pan-Indian film Kanguva is gearing up for a massive promotional tour across North India ahead of its November 14 release. After Kanguva, Suriya is set to collaborate with comedian-turned-director RJ Balaji for a unique fantasy film tentatively titled Karuppu, where Suriya will reportedly play the role of a deity.

This project, inspired by RJ Balaji’s earlier film Mukuthi Amman, will see a fresh treatment in its approach to divine characters, shifting from a female lead to a male character in a godly role, which has intrigued many fans. Suriya’s strong confidence in the film’s unique concept has driven this collaboration, despite RJ Balaji’s limited experience with star-hero-led films.

Suriya will be seen as a god in the film which will also feature Rukmini Vasanth, Mrunal Thakur and others. The film will mark the debut of these two heroines in Tamil cinema.

Following a short break after Kanguva, Suriya will begin shooting for Karuppu, while Kanguva Part 2v is also under planning stages. Updates on his anticipated projects with Vetrimaaran (Vadivasal) and Sudha Kongara remain paused for now, with both director and actor focusing on their current commitments.
