In recent times, Karthi’s Vaa Vaathiyar (Annagaru Vastaru) and even Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi also failed in the same way in the Telugu states.
By: Shanaz B Syed | 14 March 2026 1:29 PM ISTRecently, when the film “With Love” was released in Telugu, it flopped, not with even a couple of crores in advance. However, the same film collected ₹30 crores gross from the Tamil box office. Despite the presence of young beauty Anaswara Rajan, about whom a huge buzz popped up after the film Champion was released, she hasn’t made any impact at the Box Office. Now, a similar thing is happening for another Tamil film, even without the dubbed version getting released.
Recently, Radhika’s Thai Kizhavi made ₹50 crores from the Tamil box office, and the makers are claiming that the film emerged as the biggest hit of 2026 so far in terms of distributor share. However, the film is finding no takers for the Telugu release, as per reports, while the OTT platforms are getting ready to stream the movie from the last week of March 2026. As per reports, Tamil filmmakers are seriously worried now as their every simple comedy commercial film used to collect big with the Telugu dubbing version earlier, but that’s not happening anymore.
In recent times, Karthi’s Vaa Vaathiyar (Annagaru Vastaru) and even Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi also failed in the same way in the Telugu states. While the films got delayed in the Tamil arena itself, their Telugu releases didn’t find any takers due to various factors. Though Telugu films are working everywhere with their dubbed versions, somehow Tamil films are not doing well in the Telugu states, though they used to outshine original films at the box office here.
