By: Shanaz B Syed | 13 Aug 2025 10:03 AM ISTTeja Sajja could have easily basked in the glory of HanuMan’s massive success and aimed straight for superstardom. Instead, the young actor is taking a different road. With his upcoming film Mirai, directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, set for release on September 5, 2025, he’s preparing for a box office clash with Ghaati and Madharaasi. But beyond the competition, Teja seems more focused on the kind of films he wants to create rather than chasing the “star” tag.
In a chat, Teja opened up about how HanuMan changed his perspective. He said stardom is something that builds over decades, and it’s not his immediate aim. “I want to make films that leave a mark, especially on younger audiences. If, 15 or 20 years from now, people still remember my work, that will be my real success,” he shared, showing a maturity rare for someone so early in his career.
For him, the magic lies in how a story is told. Teja believes India’s cultural and mythological tales carry deep morals, but they should be presented in a way that feels cool and engaging, not like a lecture. He pointed out that’s exactly what he tried to achieve with HanuMan. The approach seems to have worked, the actor says he feels proud when parents tell him their kids watch the movie repeatedly and even talk about the values in it.
With Mirai, Teja is once again stepping into the fantasy genre, promising more than just visual spectacle. If his words are any indication, the film may carry the same blend of entertainment and moral depth that has become his signature. Whether or not Mirai beats its rivals at the box office, Teja Sajja appears more determined to win hearts for the long run.
