Mega Powerstar Ram Charan’s latest movie “Peddi” got delayed twice, and finally locked on the release date of June 4th. However, it looks like the ongoing tussle between Producers and Exhibitors regarding the implementation of the ‘Percentage System’ is now creating a big issue for the film in the state of Telangana. Guess what, this tussle has now reached the ‘hike’ that the makers of Peddi are expecting over the ticket prices.

In fact, distributor and exhibitor, Sirish Reddy (Dil Raju’s brother) has earlier clarified that Telangana exhibitors will not play movies at hiked prices even if the Government gives a GO to hike the ticket prices. Many felt that he was giving a funny threat to the Telugu Industry’s producers, as a tactic to corner them into agreeing into the percentage-based revenue sharing system. However, it looks like his threat is real.

Today, the Telangana Exhibitors Association clarified that there will be no ticket price hike for “Peddi” in the state of Telangana, and they have even written a letter to Telangana CM Revanth Reddy to not facilitate the hike. They argue that, if ticket prices are hiked, people are not coming to single screens.

However, there is no issue for ticket hikes in Andhra Pradesh, as exhibitors from the AP region have already agreed to the demands of Producers that they will wait for this year's end to get the percentage system implemented. Though Telanana and Andhra exhibitors are currently divided over when the percentage system should be implemented, it looks like Peddi has to make crucial decisions before the release itself, such that there will be no issues at the time of the release.
