By: Tupaki Desk | 26 Sept 2025 6:18 PM ISTThe Telangana government has been very proactive when it comes to ticket hikes and additional shows as several star hero films have been able to secure these privileges in the recent past.
This got increasingly prevalent in the case of Pawan Kalyan’s OG, which released with almost unprecedented ticket rises, and additional premier shows in the Telugu states. However, this was dismissed by the Telangana High Court, which issued an order against elevated ticket prices, and they came as a shocker to the Telangana government.
Shortly after this reprimanding by the Telangana High Court, the Telangana cinematography minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy had a pretty strong reaction.
“This is my request to big producers and heroes to avoid coming to the Telangana government, asking for ticket, hikes, and special shows. You please stay away from these requests as cinema is the only medium of entertainment for the underprivileged and it’s your responsibility to keep it accessible to the needy.” Komatireddy said.
The cinematography minister indeed had a point to make at the conference as he appeared to stand against the ticket hikes at a fundamental level.
But it has to be seen if the big producers would listen to the cinematography minister and avoid coming for hikes. The next superstar film from Tollywood would be Raja Saab which is locked for next Sankranthi season.
