Every year on June 26, the world observes the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, also known as World Drug Day. This day promotes awareness and global cooperation to eliminate drug abuse. To mark this important day, the Telangana Government held a special awareness event under the 'Rising Telangana' initiative. Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy attended as the chief guest, and Global Star Ram Charan joined as a special guest.

During the event, Ram Charan shared a heartfelt message: "I’d like to thank our state’s Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, my brother Vijay Deverakonda, Dil Raju, Pullela Gopichand, and everyone present here. A warm welcome to all the friends who have joined us today."

He remembered attending similar campaigns in his school days and said it was nostalgic to be part of one again. Expressing concern about today's youth, he added, "A few years ago, we saw in the news how drastically things have changed... It’s heartbreaking to hear that in those same places, children are unknowingly consuming harmful substances in pursuit of a temporary high."

Ram Charan, now a father spoke about his fears as a parent. He said "Back then, I wasn’t a parent. But today, as a father homeschooling his daughter, the thought of sending her out to school fills me with anxiety."

Encouraging young people to find happiness in healthy lifestyles, he said:"As Vijay mentioned... that’s the real high... Scoring well in exams is a high. Playing games with friends and spending evenings with loved ones... that’s the real high we should be seeking."

He concluded, "We must protect our families, our friends, and our schools... Let’s all come together to support the Rising Telangana initiative... Let’s all stand united and become soldiers in this fight."
